Kroger Shopping Helps Our Sister Parish!
Easier than ever with your Kroger Plus Card!
For years, the Friends of Esquipulas (FOE) group has benefited from donations that come through Kroger, via rewards cards that you have purchased and then used to make purchases.
Kroger now is changing that program in a way that makes it easier for you to donate -- and to get your friends and family to donate. All that is required is for you to have a Kroger Plus card and to register it online, denoting Friends of Esquipulas as your charity of choice. After that, FOE will get a percentage of most everything you buy there, and you don't have to worry about reloading a rewards card.
Outlined below are the steps for signing up. There are several steps, but I did it pretty quickly, and I'm no computer whiz. Just follow the steps.
Our NPO number, which you will need, is 12403.
TO SIGN UP:
Have your Kroger Plus card handy and register it online at krogercommunityrewards.com. (If you don't have a Kroger Plus card, you can get one at the customer service desk at any Kroger. It's a customer reward card, not a credit card; doesn't cost you anything.)
Once on the site, click on Sign In/Register
Unless you've used the online site before, you must click on SIGN UP TODAY in the ‘New Customer?’ box.
Sign up for a Kroger Rewards online account by entering zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address and creating a password, agreeing to the terms and conditions
You will then get a message to check your email inbox. Open the email and click on the link within the body of the email. It will take you back to the Kroger site.
Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number. (It's on the back.) Then, update, or confirm your information.
Enter NPO number for FOE (12403) and the name Friends of Esquipulus Inc. should pop up. Select it and click on confirm.
To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see the group's name on the right side of your information page.
If you have a Kroger Plus card but don't carry it or know your number, call 800-576-4377, select option 4 to get your Kroger Plus card number.
Members must swipe their registered Kroger Plus card or use the phone number that is related to their registered Kroger Plus card when shopping for each purchase to count.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have one of the old cards with money loaded on it, you can still use it until it runs out. Kroger will stop reloading those cards on Aug. 14, but we will get credit for any amounts purchased on or before that day.
ALSO: Please share our NPO number with friends and family, so they also can contribute to our cause.
QUESTIONS? Please email Jean Porter at jeanporter83@gmail.com, or call her at 643-7842. We hope to have FOE supporters set up after church on some coming Sundays to help you through the process if you need it. But remember, the sooner you get signed up, the sooner your purchases help us build our financial support for our friends in Esquipulus. Blessings!
